November 2020 Elite Braves
7th Grade Elite Brave: Kara Moreland Clubs and/or Sports: JV Cross Country What I love about Iroquois is that it's a close-knit community and a small school district where we really get to know everyone. Since joining the cross-country team, it's helped me feel more connected to my peers and I have made some new friends in other grades as well. Coach Sluga, Mr. MacKelvey, and Mrs. Barringer are amazing coaches! Future Aspirations: I have an interest of going into nursing school after high school. One day I would love to visit the Bahamas; it is very pretty there and super warm. It is ranked one of the best vacation destinations in the world to visit. I would love to join other sports teams for school and am considering the Swim team and Track & Field. Favorite Teacher: Ms. Durante (6th grade) has made the most impact on me because she was very engaging and really helped me learn math better. She was always caring, humorous, and made learning fun! Favorite Quote: "Give thanks to the LORD for He good: His love endures forever." Psalm 107:1

11th Grade Elite Brave: Max Nicolussi Clubs and/or Sports: Marching/Concert Band, Vocal Ensemble, Drama Club, Golf, Track & Field, Iroquois Robotics, Boy Scouts, Student Council, Jacket Club Iroquois is small which offers a tightly knit community, while also giving everyone a chance to participate in any sport or activity they want. Favorite Teacher: I would have to say Mr. Chase has impacted me the most due to his combination of discipline and mind set of striving for perfection. Mr. Chase has also been a teacher of mine every year since I was in 4th grade, and has always shown a great deal of compassion in his efforts of building us into successful young men and women. 9th Grade Elite Brave: Marley Rounds What I love about Iroquois is all of the teachers are not only good teachers, but they are good people. The teachers here go out of their way to make the students happy. Future Aspirations: Go to Tony and Guy to pursue my dream of being a cosmetologist. Once I get out of college, I want to have a good job for about a year. After that year of the job I want to go on a trip to a place I have never been before, or visit family I don't see often. Favorite Teacher: The teacher that has made the most impact on me is Mrs. Bandur and Mrs. Nuhfer. I could not pick just one. They both helped me through the hardest times in my life. I could go to these teachers with anything and they knew just what to say. They made learning fun. I usually don't like school, but they made be excited to go to school every day. Favorite Quote: "The way I see it, if you want the rainbow you gotta put up with the rain." Dolly Parton

Marley Rounds
10th Grade Elite Brave: Jeffrey Samec Things I love about Iroquois: The number of opportunities students can have, with JROTC to Vo-tech, students can learn many different ideas and topics, with many students ready to learn, and many amazing teachers, it really makes Iroquois a great school to be in, and makes learning feel a lot more fun and easier. Future aspirations: Enlist into the Pennsylvania Army National Guard next year. After graduation, I plan on spending 4 years in the National Guard under the position of Military Police (MP.) then going into college in criminal justice and/or law. I also hope to enlist into the U.S. Air Force for a total of 6 years after I graduate college, then I plan on spending the rest of my life as a PA Trooper, I will go into the Law enforcement career as a Canine Unit or a Criminal Investigator. Favorite Teacher: All my teachers have made an impact on me one way or another, but out of all the amazing teachers I have learned from, I would say Mrs. Dell has made the best impact on me this year. When I go into her class every day, she comes into class engaging with every student, even if they aren’t enthusiastic back, she still engages with every student and treats everyone as an individual which I feel makes learning a lot better. I personally enjoy her class and her way of teaching makes learning fun and school 10 times better in my opinion. Leah Moreland, Grade 10 Clubs and/or Sports: I am involved in soccer and jacket club. What do you love about Iroquois? I love the atmosphere of Iroquois. Most of the teachers I've gotten a chance to have are kind, positive, and try their best to set you up for success. What are your future aspirations? After high school I plan to either join the Police Academy or go to college for criminal justice, to become a State Trooper. What teacher has made the most impact on you and why? Ms. Glennon because whenever I had a bad day she knew how to cheer me up and she is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet.
