Special Ed. Long-Term Substitute Gifted/Enrichment Teacher

Location:  District-Wide

 The Iroquois School District is accepting applications for a Long-Term Substitute Gifted/Enrichment Teacher needed for K-12.  

PA Certification in Special Education required.  Act 34, 151, 114 and 168 Clearances required.

Approximately February 16, 2022, through June 9, 2022.

Homebound Tutors

Location: Iroquois School District

Immediate need for Homebound Tutors for all grade levels throughout the 2021-2022 School Year. All areas of certification needed; special education preferred.

Current ISD Employees: Submit a letter of interest to the Superintendent's Office. This is an "as needed" service for the 2021-2022 School Year.

Special Education Teachers - Remote/Virtual Instructional Support

Location: Iroquois Jr./Sr. High and Iroquois Elementary. After School Hours.

Requirements: PA teaching certificate in Special Education. Applicant must have the ability to provide supplemental instructional support to remote/virtual learners.

HIGH SCHOOL

Long-Term Substitute High School Spanish Teacher

Location: Iroquois Jr./Sr. High School

Part-Time Special Education Instructional Aide (Paraprofessional)
Location: Iroquois Elementary School 

Immediate need for a Part-Time Education Instructional Aide (Paraprofessional).

Current position need is at a part-time level.  Position availability is dependent upon student and programming needs.

Post-secondary degree and/or experience with children in specialized educational settings preferred.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting and monitoring student performance and instruction in a variety of school and community settings.

  • Collecting, summarizing, and communicating data to school personnel.

AmeriCorps Member

Location:  Iroquois Elementary School

Immediate need for an AmeriCorps Member at our elementary school. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide academic assistance and/or service-learning activities to students with grades K-6.

  • Provide intensive progress monitoring to help inform and refine instruction and intervention for students.

  • Deliver targeted Standardized Test preparation and remediation to students.

  • Provide homework help and study skills instruction.

  • Utilize a combination of interventions provided by the school staff to deliver individualized remediation and support.

What is AmeriCorps? Like the Military or Peace Corps, AmeriCorps is a way to serve your country. AmeriCorps members make Americans safer, stronger, and healthier. They strengthen our communities and above all, get things done.

Who is eligible to serve? Must be 17 years of age or older by start date of service. Candidates selected to serve must submit the following documentation to verify their eligibility: Driver’s license / PA State ID card, Social Security Card, Birth Certificate, Proof of Education (High School Diploma, College ID, Transcripts). Additionally, all candidates must be able to pass all required State and FBI background checks. AmeriCorps host site placements may have additional qualifications for their AmeriCorps members.

What will I be doing while serving? SCHOOL-BASED Positions: Members provide focused academic assistance, one-on-one/small group instruction, RTI Model, Credit Recovery, Title 1 remediation and support, Standardized Test preparation, STEM activities, and progress monitoring. Services take place in before, during, and after-school programming in a public or private school settings. COMMUNITY-BASED (Non-Profit) Positions: Members provide academic support services, mentoring, STEM activities and service learning in alternative education, early childhood, and/or after-school programs.
  
What is the commitment and hour requirements? Members selected to serve in School Districts will commit to a full-time schedule averaging 40 hours /wk. for a minimum of 1700 hours. Members selected to serve in Community Based Non-Profit Organizations will commit to a less than full-time capacity in either a half-time (900 hours) or reduced half-time (675 Hours) with a less than full time schedule averaging 20-30 hrs/wk.

BUS MONITORS/LUNCHROOM MONITORS
Location: District-wide

ISD is accepting applications for multiple bus monitors/cafeteria monitors for the 2020-2021 school year. Compensation $13.07/hr. school days only. High school diploma required. Prior experience with elementary/secondary age students a plus. Responsibilities will include arriving on time for each workday; supervise students as they ride the bus to/from school; create seating chart for each bus run. Accompany students to cafeteria and return to classrooms after obtaining lunches; maintain order in cafeteria/classrooms. Ensure social distancing requirements, face masks, and use of hand sanitizer, ensure cleanliness of area assigned. Enforce bus/cafeteria rules and procedures.
