COVID VACCINES - The Iroquois School District would like to hold a COVID Vaccine Clinic onsite Saturday, June 5th. This would be the Pfizer two dose vaccine with the second dose given on June 26th. This event would be for all Iroquois community members over the age of 12. Anyone under the age of 18 will need parental permission and a parent on-site. There is no cost for this vaccine but you are asked to bring insurance card for verification. Vaccines will still be given if you do not have insurance. In order to facilitate this program with our local Walmart Pharmacy we are asking you to complete the attached interest survey. Attention Parents of 11th and 12th grade students: Prom Court will be showcased with the King/Queen, Prince/Princess announced in the Auditorium on Saturday, May 22nd at 9:30pm. Parents of 11th and 12th grade students only are invited to watch the crowning and take photographs of our royalty on stage. Parents will be asked to leave the event after photographs are taken. Future Aspirations: Going to college for 4 years in animators and multimedia artists so I can learn new styles of art for the career I love deeply. Among the many positive attributes that iroquois has to offer, the thing I love most is the people. We are all like a family. The Keystone Exams are fast approaching! Here are the dates of the upcoming exams. Cyber families will receive an email in the next week regarding testing times and transporation. 11th grade Literature: May 18 & 19, 10th Grade Literature: may 20 & 21, Biology: May 24 & 25, and Algebra: May 26 & 27. Dear Parents/Guardians of Iroquois School District Students: I wanted to provide you with updated information on COVID-19 Vaccines. Everyone 16 years of age or older is now eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccination. Information regarding these vaccines is located on CDC and Department of Health websites. I have included the link below to the CDC which includes information and a vaccine finder to help you locate vaccine sites near you. · The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is recommended for people aged 16 years and older. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/How-Do-I-Get-a-COVID-19-Vaccine.html Sites included on the vaccine finder include: Rite Aid - Walgreens Giant Eagle - Walmart CVS - UPMC St. Vincent/AHN - Community Health Network A clinic will also be held at the Bayfront Convention Center on Monday May, 3rd from 1pm-8pm. They will be using the Pfizer vaccine which is approved for ages 16 and older. And would ask that a parent/guardian be present to countersign consent. Appointments can be made by calling 1-866-LECOM19 or going to lecom.eventbrite.com. Any family members of the children or anyone you know 16 years of age and older is also welcome to sign up! They prefer that everyone has an appointment, so they are able to estimate vaccine usage, and nothing goes to waste however walk-ins are also welcome during this same time. I love that Iroquois is a small school and everyone knows each other. Future Aspirations: In the future I would like to travel because I go on trips with my family all the time and it's lots of fun and would love to go on many more trips. 10th Grade Elite Brave: Hailey Pierce What do you love about Iroquois? I love that because of the smaller size of our school, our community is tightly knit and it offers a really unique high school experience that I'm glad I got to have. Future Aspirations: After graduation I plan on attending college at either Edinboro University or Mercyhurst University to get a degree in forensic science and biochemistry to become a forensic toxicologist. I've also considered getting a degree in political science or criminology as well as attending law school to become a lawyer. What teacher has made the most impact on you and why? I feel like the teacher that has made the most impact on me is either Mrs. Manross or Mrs. Dell, I can't choose between the two. Mrs. Manross has helped me tremendously throughout my high school career as well as helping me get back up after I've fallen. Mrs. Dell has also impacted me immensely as well because of her positivity and approachability, I love going into third period because she always makes my day brighter. What I love about Iroquois is that everyone, teachers, students, and counselors are kind and willing to help. Future Aspiration: Go to college and maybe travel a little too. What teacher has made the most impact on you and why? I can think of a few teachers that have had an impact on me, but this year Miss. Potthoff has impacted me a lot. Miss. Potthoff always helps students and answers whatever questions they have. If you are confused about an assignment you can email her or ask her in class and she will explain it more or make it less confusing.
