12th Grade Elite Brave: Daphne Juliano What do you love about Iroquois? I wouldn’t say that I love anything about High School, but I did grow fond of the teachers I met at the beginning of my senior year. They were very kind to me and I had a lot of fun in their classes. Future Aspirations: My future aspirations at this point in my life are uncertain, however I do plan to publish a book that I am writing to help people like me with mental illnesses and to show them that they are not alone in their struggles. What teacher has made the most impact on you and why? There are three teachers that have made the most impact on me and they are Mrs. Boblentz, Ms. Cammarata and Mrs. Doverspike. They were nothing but kind to me and I had a lot of fun in their classes. I feel that they were the three teachers I connected with most because I could easily talk to them about class, good things going on in my life and the new books that I was reading. I admire them and their kindness, and they will be the teachers that I remember well after I’ve graduated high school. Favorite Quote: “What winning is to me is not giving up, is no matter what's thrown at me, I can take it. And I can keep going.”- Patrick Swayze

Iroquois Community - As you are aware, both Iroquois Jr./Sr. and Iroquois Elementary School switched to virtual instruction last week due to recommendations put into place by the Dept. of Ed in regards to COVID-19 positive/probable cases in schools. Iroquois SD believes that face-to-face instruction is better academically for our students. We also believe that students and adults are safe in school, as long as proper mitigation efforts are followed. More research supports this decision, and we will continue to offer in-person instruction as long as we can continue to do it safely. On Mon., December 14, Iroquois Jr./Sr. High will be open and operate as scheduled. Iroquois Elementary School will not be able to re-open until Wed., December 16. Currently, IES is suffering from a shortage of subs to cover the building. We hope this problem is rectified early next week. If our efforts come up short, we will communicate our plans to you. Thank you for your continued support, and please stay safe. Shane Murray

REMOTE LEARNING - I wanted to commend all of the students on their attendance and work performance over the last three days of virtual instruction. Here are just a few reminders for all students - 1. You must not be in bed/lying down for class. 2. No eating while on Zoom. 3. Distractions such a dancing, waving, or gaming are not acceptable. 4. Bathroom breaks are between classes, not during class. 5. You must have your video on and show your whole face during the entire class. You will be given credit for any work but you will still be marked absent.
