Attached are images from a demolition derby or destroyer activity for 8th Grade STEM. In this activity, students combined two activities for an extra challenge. One group demonstrated our collaborative learning cup stack activity where they built a pyramid using ropes and rubber bands. The other group used their recently designs and built catapults to launch pencil tip erasers at the towers in an attempt to slow them down. A great time was had by all in Mr. Bartlett's class.

Due to an oven malfunction the lunch menu for today had to be altered at the last minute. We will hopefully resume regular lunches tomorrow. Students still have the option of pizza and other cold food items. Please disregard information coming from various social media sources.

Attendance: Please remember that students must turn in a written excuse within 3 days of their return to school. If your child is sick, you can also email our Attendance Secretary, Linda Bartlett, lbartlett@iroquois.iu5.org with an excuse. Although we do appreciate the phone calls notifying us your child is absent, we do need the written note as well. Additionally, students can only miss 10 days during the school year with a parental excuse. If you have any questions regarding attendance, please refer to the student handbook.

Parents, your student has been given pages from the handbook requiring signatures. Please return pages 37-40 as soon as possible. Also, please complete the direct certification form for free/reduced lunch. All students at Iroquois receive a free breakfast and lunch regardless of financial status, but that form is important for other fee waivers such as summer school and college board exams.
