7th and 8th grade students will be taking the PSSA exams in the morning of the following dates: ELA: April 20-22, Math: April 26-27, Science (8th grade only): April 28-29. Iroquois Cyber Academy students in grades 7 & 8 will be taking the exams at that time as well. Please make every effort in having your student attend school on those dates. More information will be coming home in the following weeks.

COVID -On Thursday, March 11, 2021, we were informed of a probable COVID-19 case impacting Iroquois Jr./Sr. High School and our track team. The Iroquois School District has followed the health and safety plan in accordance with the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Pennsylvania Department of Health. 11th Grade Elite Brave: Kyle Eddinger I love the community we have in our school. Our school is small enough that everyone knows each other. I think that plays a big role is our #1 Family motto. Future Aspirations: My future aspirations are to go into the Pennsylvania National Guard while takes college courses to work my way up to a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Networking. What teacher has made the most impact on you and why? The teacher that has had the most impact on me has been Mrs. Nuhfer. She was an amazing teacher and opened my eyes to a lot of different areas of the English subject. She made learning fun and enjoyable, and overall was a joy to be around. Seeing my friends Future Aspirations: Travel after high school and go to college to become a neonatal nurse practitioner. What teacher has made the most impact on you and why? All of my teachers because they always help me out when I need it.

8th Grade Elite Brave: Maddox Brown Clubs and/or Sports: Football, Baseball, Wrestling What do you love about Iroquois? I love that most of the teachers here are funny and nice and they try to help you as well as they can. And I like hanging out with my friends. Future aspirations: When I graduate I hope to attend Penn State University Park and then get a job that I love to do. What teacher has made the most impact on you and why? SCHOOL RE-OPENING - Iroquois Jr./Sr. High School will open for live face-to-face instruction on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. All students will return to their normal class schedules.

VIRTUAL BELL SCHEDULE -

SCHOOL CLOSURE - Due to a lack of staffing, Iroquois Jr./Sr. High School will remained closed through February 23, 2021. We will be resuming live in-person instruction on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. We will keep you updated if any changes occur.

ROTC & ECTS - Students attending ROTC and ECTS will still be required to attend these programs during the next three days of school closure (2/16-2/18/20). The district will still be providing transportation for these students. ROTC & ECTS students will not be permitted into the school during this closure so they will have to Zoom from an alternative location to be considered in attendance for their IHS classes.

It is regretful that I am informing you that we will be closing I.H.S. to students over the next three days (2/16-2/18/21). We are hopeful that we can reopen to students on Friday but that is unknown at the moment. We will be sending updates as we receive information. This closure is due to COVID 19 and a lack of professional staffing. Currently there are no student cases being reported within the school or connected in any way to the staff members who are quarantined. After school sports scheduled for this week will still occur with the exception of tonight's (2/15/21) boys basketball game which also is in no way related to our closure. Please remember to social distance and wear masks. Thank you all for your efforts so far this school year keeping I.H.S. live to instruction.

If you are in 8th – 12th grade and are interested in learning about careers in hospitality and tourism, education and training, or human services, then, please consider attending a virtual panel discussion on careers in these fields. The panel discussion will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 16 from 6:30 pm-7:30 pm and pre-registration is required. 8th Grade Elite Brave: Elliot Moyer Clubs and/or Sports: Erie Jr. Otters hockey What do you love about Iroquois? I like the teachers that we have, and the way that they treat the kids with kindness and respect. Future Aspiration: I would like to make it to a junior hockey team and then hopefully make it to professional hockey. Favorite Teacher: The teacher with the most impact on me would be my band teacher Mr. Chase, because he has taught me to play a saxophone since 5th grade, and he is the reason I've improved so much, and if my hockey career doesn’t go as planned, then I might consider a musical career.
