AMERICAN LEGION CARL NEFF POST #571
This scholarship is open to any senior from Iroquois High School with a G. P. A. of 2.5, and is planning to pursue a bachelor associate degree from an accredited college. A $2,500 scholarship will be awarded. Other requirements are listed on the application. Please return completed applications to the counseling office by the first Friday in May.
IROQUOIS ALL SPORTS BOOSTERS SCHOLARSHIP
The Iroquois All Sports Boosters are offering scholarships to Iroquois Senior Student Athletes who are attending an institution of higher education. Other requirements are listed on the application. Please return completed applications to the counseling office by the first Friday in May.
IROQUOIS EDUCATION ASSOCIATION
The IEA is offering a scholarship totaling $1,000 to an Iroquois Senior who plans to pursue a career in education. The Association will award $250 per year for each of the four years that the student attends an accredited college while working towards certification in elementary or secondary teaching.Other requirements listed on the application.Please return completed applications to the counseling office by the first Friday in May.
LAWRENCE PARK ATHLETIC CLUB SCHOLARSHIP
A scholarship is offered to 2 male and 2 female students each, who plan to attend a 2- or 4-year program at a technical school or college. LAWRENCE PARK EAST LAKE SHORE LIONS CLUB SCHOLARSHIP
A scholarship is offered to a student, who plans to attend a 2- or 4-year program at a technical school or college. The student will receive the award based on scholarship, character and leadership. THE BILL VORSHECK SCHOLARSHIP
Two students, one male senior athlete and one female senior athlete from Iroquois Jr./Sr. High School, will receive this scholarship. To receive this renewable scholarship, students must maintain status as a full time student in good standing, be drug-free, and have no felony record. All applications will be given consideration based upon, but not limited to, the following criteria: financial need, citizenship, leadership, academic standing and multi-sport athlete. THE ERIC WINGROVE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Two students, one male and one female, will be awarded a college scholarship. ERIE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS
The Erie Community Foundation is home to 105 donor named scholarships, and each has its own eligibility and criteria requirements. Many scholarships target students graduating from specific high schools, some for specific areas of study and others for financial need. Each scholarship is unique according to its donor's wishes, and each offers the opportunity to earn a scholarship for your education.
To obtain an application for any of the scholarships listed alphabetically below, please contact your high school guidance office, college financial aid office, or other organization listed as part of the How to Apply information that is provided at the end of each scholarship description below. Application packets are distributed to all public and private high schools and colleges by February 15 of each year.

ZONTA CLUB OF ERIE SCHOLARSHIP (*Juniors)

Malin Karolina Varma (Sweden) always wanted to help others, but when she was afflicted with child rheumatism at the age of 11, it became more important than ever. “I could not walk for four weeks and nobody knew what was wrong with me,” said Malin. “Later when I got my diagnosis it was both a relief and a shock. I knew then that what I wanted to do was to help others in the same situation, especially children in countries without the same opportunity to healthcare as we do in Sweden.” Since then, Malin has been actively involved in helping other children, mothers and women to a better life.

NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS
Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship- This scholarship is designed to attract outstanding students to careers in mathematics, the natural sciences, and engineering. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit to students who are college sophomores or juniors during the current academic year, who have excellent academic records, and who have demonstrated interest in and potential for careers in these fields. Coca-Cola- (National Scholars for four years) (Regional Scholars for four years). This scholarship is available to seniors who have a GPA of 3.0 or better and part-time employment. Colonel’s Kids Scholars Program- (funded by KFC) This national competition is open to high school seniors committed to attending a public college or university in their state of residence. The program emphasizes community involvement, leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit. The scholarship covers tuition, fees, books, and room and board up to a determined amount per academic year, renewable for four years. Scholars must work towards a 4-year degree and complete an internship during their tenure as a Colonel’s Kids Scholar. Each scholar must work a minimum of 10 hours per week, beginning in their sophomore year, and maintain a satisfactory academic record. Dell Scholars Program- This scholarship offers an opportunity for underserved and lower income students to go to college. The scholarships are offered to high school seniors for full-time study towards a bachelor’s degree at an accredited university of their choice. The Dell Scholars Program emphasizes a student’s determination to succeed over academic records or test scores. To encourage through preparation, the program requires that students participate in an approved college readiness program, have a high school GPA of 2.4 or higher, be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and have a demonstrable financial need. The Gates Foundation - Gates Millennium Scholars Program, provides scholarships to one thousand minority students who have attained a minimum GPA of a 3.3 and meet a variety of other criteria. Hispanic Scholarship Fund- The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) is the nation’s leading organization supporting Hispanic college students. National Merit Scholarship- To participate in the National Merit® Scholarship Program, a student must: take the PSAT/NMSQT® in the specified year of the high school program and no later than the third year in grades 9 through 12, regardless of grade classification or educational pattern; be enrolled full-time as a high school student, progressing normally toward graduation or completion of high school, and planning to enroll full-time in college no later than the fall following completion of high school; and be a citizen of the United States or be a U.S. lawful permanent resident (or have applied for permanent residence, the application for which has not been denied) and intend to become a U.S. citizen at the earliest opportunity allowed by law. National Merit® Scholarships
Every finalist competes for these single payment scholarships, which are awarded on a state representational basis. Winners are selected without consideration of family financial circumstances, college choice, or major and career plans.
Corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards
Corporate sponsors designate their awards for children of their employees or members, for residents of a community where a company has operations, or for finalists with career plans the sponsor wishes to encourage. These scholarships may either be renewable for four years of undergraduate study or one-time awards.
College-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards
Officials of each sponsor college select winners of their awards from finalists who have been accepted for admission and have informed NMSC by the published deadlines that the sponsor college or university is their first choice. These awards are renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study.
Prudential Spirit of Community Award- (Awards vary) State and national honors are given to award recipients. Young people in grades 5-12, who live in the 50 United States or Washington, D.C., who have conducted a volunteer service activity within the past year, are eligible to apply for The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards. Also eligible are American students in these grades who live elsewhere as long as their parents or guardians are legal voting residents of one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia. (Employees of Prudential, NASSP, or any of its affiliates, and any firm involved in the program, their children, and previous National Honorees are NOT eligible. Previous State Honorees are eligible only if their submitted activities are significantly different from previously honored activities.) Eligible students may complete a Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program application and submit it to their middle or high school principals; or to the head of one of these officially designated local organizations: a Girl Scout council, county 4-H organization, American Red Cross chapter, YMCA, or member Volunteer Center of the Points of Light Foundation & Volunteer Center National Network. SAE Engineering Scholarship- ($1,000 to $10,000) To qualify, the applicant must enroll in an engineering program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) at a university of the applicant's choice. Undesignated scholarships are paid directly to the college or university. All scholarships are contingent upon the applicant's enrollment in engineering and acceptance from their chosen college or university. Judging will be based on the criteria established by the sponsor and as outlined in the individual scholarship descriptions. Applicants must intend to enroll in an engineering program accredited by ABET; be a citizen of the United States (not permanent resident) at the date of application; be a high school senior at the date of application; meet minimum requirements with regard to grade point average; SAT I and/or ACT scores as outlined in the individual requirements of each scholarship. The Society for Range Management (SRM) Masonic-Range Science Scholarship- offers financial assistance and recognition to a high school senior, college freshman, or college sophomore planning to major in/presently majoring in range science and/or closely related field. The recipient of the scholarship must be planning to attend or be currently in attendance at a college or university with a range science program. Applicants must be sponsored by a member of the Society for Range Management (SRM), the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD), or the Soil and Water Conservation Society (SWCS). The SRM Student Affairs Committee will select the recipient(s) and announce their selection at the SRM Annual Meeting held in February each year. SunTrust Scholarship Sweepstakes – High school seniors can win a determined amount scholarship for their first year expenses at an accredited college or private career school. Toyota Community Scholarships- ($10,000 and $20,000 over four years to outstanding high school seniors nationwide) Participating high schools may nominate one student who exemplifies outstanding academic excellence, leadership and most importantly - commitment to community service. Past Toyota Community Scholars have done everything from spearheading charity drives and organizing cultural and educational summits, to establishing their own community service organizations. The program includes an all-expenses paid recognition trip. Educational Testing Service administers the program. The school's nominee should have a consistent record of academic excellence, be active in school programs, and be recognized as a leader by his/her peers and instructors. In addition, the nominee must have initiated or be actively involved in a service program that addresses a school or community need. Only one nominee will be accepted from a school. Elks National Federation 2020 Most Valuable Student Scholarship Competition– The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the current competition. Wendy’s High School Heisman- This scholarship recognizes the nation’s most accomplished high school seniors for excellence in academics, community service, and athletics. Wendy’s late founder, Dave Thomas, created this scholarship in partnership with the Heisman Memorial Trophy Committee, which annually honors one outstanding college football player. Principals, guidance counselors, and coaches at all U.S. high schools are asked to nominate one male and one female student who are active in any of the 32 sports sanctioned by the National Federation of State High Schools. Nominees are judged on their academic achievements, community service involvement, and athletic accomplishments. State and national finalists are selected each fall. Men and women entering their senior year of high school who have at least a “B” grade average and participate in at least one of the 32 sports officially sanctioned by the National Federation of State High Schools. Keppra Family Epilepsy Family Scholarship– The purpose of this scholarship program is to demonstrate the continued commitment of UCB, Inc. to people with epilepsy, their families, and caregivers. The award is a one-time scholarship in an amount to be determined. Twenty scholarships will be awarded to people with epilepsy, and 10 scholarships will be awarded to family members or caregivers of people with epilepsy, for use toward tuition at a United States-based center for higher learning. Horatio Alger Franklin Scholarship Program- There are twenty-five $10,000 scholarships awarded annually in Pennsylvania that are funded through The Pew Charitable Trusts. The program is designed to increase student understanding and appreciation of the contributions of Benjamin Franklin and Horatio Alger, Jr. The Horatio Alger Franklin Scholarship Program provides assistance to students in the state of Pennsylvania who have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity and who aspire to pursue higher education.
To be eligible to apply, the applicant must meet the following criteria:
Students must produce two essays regarding Benjamin Franklin during the application process. With the submission of the essays, students do not need additionally apply for the Pennsylvania Scholarship, as they will be automatically considered;
Be enrolled full time as a high school senior in Pennsylvania, progressing normally toward graduation, and planning to enter college no later than the fall following graduation;
Have a strong commitment to pursue a bachelor’s degree at an accredited institution (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and later transfer to a four-year institution;
Critical financial need ($50,000 or less adjusted gross income per family is preferred; if higher, an explanation must be provided);
Involvement in co-curricular and community activities;
Demonstrate academic achievement (minimum grade point average of 2.0);
Be a resident of Pennsylvania;
Be a citizen of the United States

Pennsylvania Association of Community Bankers Foundation Scholarship-(Four renewable scholarships)- The goal of the PACB Foundation is to provide scholarships to children of PACB member institution’s employees and directors. It is the Foundation’s desire to not only be a part of helping students financially, but also to take an active role in developing tomorrow’s leaders. Pennsylvania Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (PBFAA) Scholarship- a Chartered State Association of the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA), Scholarships are awarded on the regional, state and national levels. PBFAA is the state trade association for professional burglar and fire alarm companies. Members are companies that design, sell, install, maintain and monitor electronic burglar and fire alarm systems. The scholarship is a way for the industry to thank the dedicated public safety community and to help pay for advanced education. Student must be a high school senior; have a father, mother or legal guardian who is a full-time active fire or police employee and not on disability; parent or guardian must be a member of the police or sheriff’s department or a full-time paid or volunteer member of a fire department in Pennsylvania; submit proof of acceptance to a college or university (letter acceptable); submit proof of parent’s occupation (ID or supervisory letter acceptable) and complete application and essay.

Pennsylvania Elks “Most Valuable Student - For the 2006 Most Valuable Student Scholarship Competition, the Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to be administered over the 2006-07 through 2009-10 academic years. Male and female students compete separately for identical awards. The amounts are as follows: 2 First-Place Awards of $60,000 ($15,000 per year); 2 Second-Place Awards of $40,000 ($10,000 per year); 2 Third-Place Awards of $20,000 ($5,000 per year); 494 Fourth-Place Awards of $4,000 ($1,000 per year); Total of $2,216,000. Pennsylvania Land Surveyors’ Foundation, Inc. Scholarship- Several scholarships totaling up to $20,000. The amounts will be paid as lump sum awards. The Pennsylvania Land Surveyors’ Foundation, Inc. is an affiliate of the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors. The goal of the organization is to promote, improve and encourage the profession and practice of land surveying in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania New Economy Technology Scholarship (NETS) offered by: The Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). (Technology scholarships provide up to $1,000 per year based on total educational costs.) Technology scholarships are offered to prepare students to succeed in the new, technology-based economy of the 21st century, and to stem the migration of Pennsylvania’s young people to other states. The Pennsylvania State Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution offers this scholarship on the basis of academics, recommendations and financial need. PHEAA Academic Excellence Scholarship Award Program- ($1500)-This scholarship is available to seniors who have applied for the Robert C. Byrd Scholarship Program, but did not receive the scholarship. This scholarship program is open to seniors who are ranked in the top 5% of their class or hold a ranking of 1, 2, or 3 in a class of 60 students or less. Applicants must have GPA of 3.50 or above on an unweighted 4.00 scale, and a SAT score = 1150 combined critical reasoning and math only or an ACT score of 25 or above. The student must be a Pennsylvania resident, be enrolled full-time at a PHEAA approved Pennsylvania postsecondary school following graduation, and be a Pennsylvania State grant recipient for at least one term during his/her freshman year.

Phi Delta Kappa International and Phi Delta Kappa Educational Foundation Scholarship- (A minimum of 30 scholarships will be awarded- twenty-seven grants.
