An Elite Brave

What is an Elite Brave?

An Elite Brave demonstrate excellent behavior in and out of the classroom, are well mannered, and respectful to both peers and teachers.  

A teacher, administrator or guidance counselor may nominate any student in grades 7-12 as an Elite Brave each month.  Staff will select a ‘primary’ reason from the criteria listed below for their nomination 

Criteria for nominating a student are:

  • Significant progress in the classroom
  • Marked improvement in grades
  • Outstanding grades
  • Leadership
  • Notable consideration towards others
  • Outstanding attitude/disposition
  • Community involvement/service
  • Personal development
  • Exemplary character
  • Individual achievement

Name:  Alayzha McCray

Clubs and/or Sports:
¬ Softball

What do you love about Iroquois?  
¬ I like how the teachers help the students a lot to understand things.  

What are your future aspirations? (College, career, trips, etc.)
¬ I am going to join the Air Force after high school.  I have always wanted to travel to California.  

What teacher has made the most impact on you and why?
¬ I really like all of the teachers at Iroquois High School because they are all very helpful.  Most of all, I really like Mrs. Peebles because she is so nice to me.

What do you love about Iroquois?  
¬ I love all of the teachers at Iroquois and how everybody is there for you if you need help.

What are your future aspirations? (College, career, trips, etc.)
¬ I want to go to college and then travel to Paris later in life. 

What teacher has made the most impact on you and why?
¬ Ms. Durante- She made the most impact on me.  She challenged me and inspired me to do my best on everything.  
¬ Mrs. Hart- She has been fun and very helpful.  She has taught me many things and the year just started!

What do you love about Iroquois?  
¬ I love the great teachers and the overall supportiveness they display for their students. 

What are your future aspirations? (College, career, trips, etc.)
¬ I hope to attend college to become a dentist or a speech pathologist.  I would also like to visit all 50 states. 

What teacher has made the most impact on you and why?
¬ Mrs. Glennon- She is so kind and is also such a neat, engaging teacher who makes science fun.  I still feel closely connected to her to this day.

¬ I love that everyone does everything.  

What are your future aspirations? (College, career, trips, etc.)
¬ I want to be a family lawyer and then a juvenile judge. 

What teacher has made the most impact on you and why?
¬ Mr.  Sovisky- He has impacted me by being both m y teacher and my coach.  He has inspired me to do better academically and in volleyball over the last 2 years.

What do you love about Iroquois?  
¬ Iroquois is a great school to attend.  The teachers are so inspiring to me.

What are your future aspirations? (College, career, trips, etc.)
¬ My future aspirations would be to travel across the world for rodeo and become a Horse Rehabilitationist.  

What teacher has made the most impact on you and why?
¬ The teacher who has made the most impact on me would be Ms. Benovic because she is funny and will help you whenever you need.

What do you love about Iroquois?  
¬ The teachers’ personalities.  They build relationships with each individual student.  

What are your future aspirations? (College, career, trips, etc.)
¬ I want to become a nurse.  I love being around children and want to help people.

What teacher has made the most impact on you and why?
¬ Mrs. Bandur-  She made my first year in the high school not so scary. She didn’t stop caring about how I’m doing in school and in general even though I am no longer her student.  
¬ Mrs. Hilinski and Mrs. Pfaff – Thank you for helping me out through the years and shaping me as a person and a student.  My high school years would not be the same without you.
