Wabtec Corp. and Penn State Behrend is hosting a FREE, weeklong STEM camp for girls currently in 6th and 7th grade targeted at giving girls the opportunity to explore STEM concepts. This year, the camp will be held June 23-27th. All applications are to be completed by March 28th.
IES was very excited to have the high school administration and guidance department meet with our 6th grade students today to discuss the transition to 7th grade. This is the first in a series of sessions designed to assist with the transition to the Jr/Sr High.
A message from the IES Health/PE dept: An informational letter was sent home regarding the upcoming growth and development lessons for students in grades 4-6. Attention IES Band Parents: Just a reminder that the 5th & 6th Grade Band "Informance" is coming up on Thursday, January 30th! Students should arrive at 6:00 PM and report to their band classrooms to prepare. The performance will begin at 6:30 PM and is a graded event, so attendance is important. Cancellations, the JH Basketball games scheduled for today, 11/29, vs Girard at the Iroquois Elementary School Gym has been canceled. 6th and 5th grade games scheduled for this evening are also canceled.
For their annual Operation Christmas Child Donation Drive, 2nd Grade donated enough to fill 18 boxes for children on the other side of the world. Way to go 2nd grade!
