This year, the Iroquois School District Foundation continued to support the children attending the schools in the Iroquois School District. With tight education budgets affecting every level of our District, we feel a renewed appreciation for everything that makes Iroquois so successful.
The Iroquois School District Foundation was able to distribute this year nine scholarships totaling over $4,200 to graduating seniors. Over the past twelve years we have also awarded over $72,000 for Professional Staff Grants to faculty at Iroquois Elementary School and Iroquois Jr./Sr. High School to support necessary projects not covered by District budgets. These varied projects greatly improve the quality of education our children receive each and every day in our District.
The Iroquois School District Foundation is committed to fully involving all alumni, parents, community members and friends of Iroquois. Today the alumni from Wesleyville High School, Lawrence Park High School and Iroquois High School reside in every state in the country.
This year the Foundation inducted the following into the Legends of Iroquois Academic Hall of Fame.
- Mrs. Rosie Chilcott
- Mrs. InaRae Corey
- Mr. Phillip Glass
- The Honorable Susan Matcham
- Mr. Daniel McLaughlin
- Mr. Harry K. Rhodes
Plans are already underway for the Fourth Annual Induction Ceremonies in the Fall of 2018.
Please let us know if you have a person you would like to be considered for this distinguished honor
Now, more than ever, parents, teachers, staff, alumni, Board members, friends, and neighbors can impact the lives of Iroquois students by contributing to the 2018-2019 Iroquois School District Foundation’s Iroquois Fund Appeal.
Monies from this appeal, along with the proceeds of the Foundation’s Taste of East Erie, Presque Isle Bicycle Time Trials, and Legends of Iroquois Academic Hall of Fame will allow additional funding for innovative and creative projects, scholarships, technology and other needs to ensure that our students are prepared for the 21st century.
Please consider a tax-deductible donation to the Iroquois Fund to support the Iroquois School District Foundation. Contributions to Iroquois organizations (i.e. Band Boosters, Drama Club, Softball Team, etc.) can be tax-deductible to the donor if passed through the Iroquois School District Foundation to the desired recipient. Undesignated contributions will fund Foundation grants and scholarships to benefit many students.
